Juli 2011 - China

Reports indicate that AQSIQ inspectors in China are intercepting export consignments from Europe because articles of WPM are being found to have country codes that do not relate to the country of export. i.e. as is the IPPC intention that treated WPM can be re-used for export, the Chinese authorities have taken a different approach and are insisting that re-exported WPM be re-treated. An EC challenge is being considered, but in the meantime exporters to China should be aware of this complication - China2011.pdf

From 19 March 2010 the use of Methyl Bromide as an acceptable treatment according to ISPM15 has now been phased out. Many countries have, as a result, banned WPM that has banned shipments with treatment dates after 18/3/2010.
